Trap Door believes strongly in building a powerful reputation for both itself and its artists. We do a very thorough analysis of every artists we choose to work with. We select only top quality artists with noticeable and engaging talent. We understand that many have dreams of having a successful music career, but not every one has the the ability to be successful. In order to guarantee our ability to grow an artist we need to guarantee the caliber of every artist we work with. Artists must submit their music before we choose to work with them. We understand this can be frustrating to an aspiring artist but to work with the best you have to be the best.
About Us
Our Story
We started Trap Door originally as an Artist Management Company. We helped artists connect with record companies and negotiated record contracts on their behalf. After seeing artists becoming indebted to record labels for creating content we began to build our own artist friendly Label geared towards providing economic alternatives to expensive content creation offered by the majors. Eventually we added marketing to our repertoire to create a one stop shop for artists looking to build their careers.
Finding Talent
Unlike many record companies who only sign artists that have already built a fan base and a following, we still develop acts. Often times even a bad artist can build a following and get the attention of record labels, meanwhile an artist with genuine talent will find it difficult to get noticed by the industry. We look to foster talented musicians and bring actual good music back into an industry often blinded by social media trends and quick paydays.
Your Music Goals
Many artists have dreams of fame and fortune, performing in stadiums and accepting Grammy Awards. Very few artists will reach the heights they dreamed about as a child. However, the industry is large and in constant need of talent and content. We look to help artists create longevity for themselves in a world of quickly fading trends and bright stars that often fade into obscurity. You don’t need to go platinum or win any awards for music to be a successful musician. Creating a dependable fan base that will support you in the years to come is more important than signing a predatory contract in the short term with a major label. Artists often make this mistake, run out of money and never even created the fan base needed to sustain them after their deal. We help artists formulate a plan that will sustain them over decades not simply a few months or a couple years.
